Welcome to Googol Idle

A game all about counting to infinity.

In Googol Idle, your opponent is the number 10^100. A number bigger than the number of atoms in the whole observable universe (10^80).

You are the runner of the mysterious ancient motor "No. 1". It only counts from 0 to 9 in an infinite loop. It pays you every loop for your service. You can buy more counters, but they are all driven by the counters left of them... counting up only if its left neighbor passes a loop.

You must update the speed of No.1 to earn more money... for more speed, more income and more counters. Every counter that passes a loop will pay you. All the counters can level up 5 levels, that increases a payment multiplier... but leveling up has a price. It absorbes all counters to their right and resets speed and earning... but you keep the earned money.

You know you cannot beat this game. It has more than one limit you cannot get over. But you can go as far as you can. Post your progress in the comments ;)

Controls

  • Mouse Wheel - Zooming in and out... you need it!
  • Right-Click & Drag - Pan
  • Left-Click on a fully leaded counter - leveling up the counter

Who is it for?

Number whisperers. Exponent enjoyers. Idle fans who like watching simple rules weave into vast outcomes. A tiny ritual between tasks... or a long journey toward the googol.

Why did you do that?

It was initially a small project to learn LÖVE2D and Lua, since I had a lot of fun coding with Pico-8. And my daughters loved to playtest it... and they were fascinated by the fact, that the game is unbeatable.

Hey what a nerdy game my dear. But I'm glad to see you're doing something again :)
Will share it a bit. Have a nice weekend and get well soon!

Thank you so much. Yeah, have to feed my brain… thx for sharing, hope you both are okay too?

Greetings to Berlin ❤️
